Inshore/Marsh Fishing

Left out of long beach harbor saturday morning at daylight and headed straight to flatboat. Didn't have any live bait so we didn't do much there. Started chasing the birds and found a few good trout under them but mostly throw backs. Worked our way down the east side to brush island and found a few trout and a lot of white trout in the cut. Also caught a 20# red and release it. Worked our way back north and found a few more white trout by door point. Ended the day with 15 specks, 36 white trout.

Ran a last minute trip today, and had to wait out the incoming rain before leaving out of the D'Iberville Marina. Didn't leave the dock until 8:40, and made a quick run to the Katrina Reef. Unlike fish everywhere, calm seas, and clear waters of yesterday, it changed for the worse. However, my clients Gleb Drona from Russia, and his 10-year old son Danila eeked out a small mess of white trout and ground mullet, as well as a few small sharks, croakers, gafftopsail catfish, a small speck, and a large spadefish. Cut it short with omnious clouds in the Gulf, and got home early once again. However, they had a great time, and Danila caught the vast majority of the 20 plus keepers, and that's the way it should be. This was their first time on our salt waters, and got to see all sorts of interesting sights for the first time, you know all the things we generally take for granted on a day to day basis. Got a few trips later in the week, hope this bad looking weathers clears out, and will reoprt later. Good fishing! Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS (228) 697-7707

Today was a great day to be on the water, and with an early start and calm seas fishing was fast and furious. Matter a fact, as I left the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor slowly motoring to the west, well, we ran into plenty of hungry gulls dipping down in chase of big shrimp jumping for their lives. What a great way to start the morning, and my comeback clients from Texas immediately proceeded to hammer small specks, white trout, bluefish, and Spanish mackerel. Not bad, especially since the boat wasn't even put up on a plane yet. Cruised around with the 36-volt trolling motor in and out of the channel, dodging shrimp boats at times, and Ed Perry, his daughter Veronica, and her boy friend Cody proceeded to catch one and two fish at a time. Kept 35 or more fish and then moved on. On the outside of Deer Island more of the great bird fishing action continued. Fish everywhere! Moved to the Katrina Reef, and there they continued to catch some fine white trout, ground mullet, and another beautiful Spanish mackerel on bottom rigs. By 10 o'clock they had over 100 fish in the box, and released plenty more including ladyfish and bluefish. Booked again with another family group for tomorrow, and hope the fish remain thick as ever. Hey, this is great light tackle fun, and these fish are excellent when fried up golden brown. Ed's going to come back and do some guided duck hunting with TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS this winter too, and we may do a "cast and blast", you know, hunt in the morning, and then fish in the afternoon. So come join me for some great inshore fishing fun, and be sure to bring the kids. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Had the extreme pleasure today to guide noted outdoor writer/photographer Jill J. Easton to a great day at the barrier islands in search of Florida pompano. However, unlike last week with great numbers of fish in the shallows and a fast bite, we had to work hard for our exotic species. After going through countless high leaping ladyfish, bluefish, blue runners, and bonnethead sharks we finally scored with the hard fighting pompano. We managed to boat 4, and lost one that made a mad dash under the boat, and then cut off on the prop. With photo opts complete, a quick stop was made at the Katrina Reef where a nice Spanish mackerel, and 35 ground mullet, and some huge "yellow mouth" white trout were quickly boated. Left those 14 to 16-inch white trout in a feeding frenzy. The afternoon bite is generally good during a full moon, with appetites turning on late in the day. By the way, Jill will be dining on baked pompano tonight, one of the finest eating fish on the planet. Anyway, another wonderful day on the water in south Mississippi. Fishing is great at this time so come catch some fish, fun, and sun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Brodie C (228) 697-7707; H (228) 392-7660; Web Site: www.teambrodiecharters

Inshore/Marsh Fishing

Day One.Started out this morning with a bunch of great guys, and headed to the east end of the marsh. We were fishing befor the birds were and we had to show them where to fis. We drifted a few islands and caught some nice fish. Dillan had the smallest fish award today, The fish was bigger than the bait, who would have thunk it. But anyway on with the tail. After catching some nice ones in close we headed further south to find dirty water and one trout, so back north we came. Picked up some more at the first stop we stoped to end the day with a mixed bag of trout and white trout35 in all. On the way in we found some birds diving and the ladyfish shootout was on. played with them for a littlewhile and one of the guys hooked a hog of a tripple tail under the rain minnows, got him to the side of the boat and like all fish stories he broke off, well i guess thats fishing. Thanks to Capt Sonny and Shor Thing Charters for letting us at Gulf Coast Charters give them a hand. Look forward to doing it again. Come get Hooked GCC. Good Fishing To All. Capt Tony Mallini Day 2 Got a good Start early this morning with the Taylor group, Dean and Seth. Got some Great bait decided to bring a buffet today, had croakers with a side of shrimp, glad we had both. We started around the "mississippi lump" picked up a few beautiful trout untill the hunters showed up, and the bite stoped. I wish some folks would google fishing etiquette and abide by it. That is what i mean when i say hunters not fishermen, enough said. Anyway we left the first spot and headed further south and picked up a few more on the shrimp under a poping cork, believe it or not they were nice fish, didn't have to measure them. Had a squall build to our west so we packed it in and headed north to cat. The mullet were thick and the big jacks were in there, Seth landed a 22 lb jack and a few more specks to boot, but i think Dean came in first with the biggest and the moastest, Great day fishing with them thanks Dean and Seth for a great day on the water. Looking forward another great day. End result 15 nice trout, a big jack fish and one happy dad and 9 year old. Thanks again. Come Get Hooked GCC. Capt. Tony Mallini

Left Gulfport harbor Saturday morning headed to free mason but seas were rougher than expected so we headed to the marsh instead. Started around flat boat under the birds but most trout were throw backs. Worked our way down the east side and ended up at Martin island. Wind died down and it really got hot. Never really found the trout but ended up with 8 nice trout & 6 white trout. Lots of throw backs.

Took out a wonderful group of anglers today that included Gary Tidewater, Mark Walls, J.T. Miller of Texas, and Ty Viger of Slidell, LA. Wanted to hit the pompano again, but weather looked iffy so we made a run to the sand sea trout a.k.a. "white trout" and southern kingfish a.k.a. "ground mullet" reefs and got into some non stop fish catching fun. The birds were working well too, so we spent some time drifting through the masses of fish using popping corks and soft-plastics, and the action was fast and furious too. Just a morning of fish everywhere. It calmed off, it was easy to spot the big shrimp jumping for their lives as the trout chased them to the surface. Plenty of specks were in the mix, but today it was all schoolies. The guys stopped at 116 white trout and ground mullet, and added a nice Spanish mackerel, as well as a small tripletail to the catch. They released as many as they caught, but enjoyed another beautiful morning on the Mississippi Sound. The good news is that the tasty bottom dwellers are still thick in the Mississippi Sound, and make for excellent light tackle fun, especially for the family groups. Get a kid on a hot white trout and ground mullet bite and he is in heaven, plenty of bites and constant action. PS: The new 2170 Blazer Bay is a dream to fish out of, and ideal for my south Mississippi and Louisiana marsh charters. Good fishing! Remember...life is short...let's fish! Regards, Capt. Robert L. Back to the barrier islands again for another shot at the delicious and hard fighting Florida pompano. Had the Paul Manchester group on this charter, and they managed to boat 14 fine pompano. Well actually, one of the biggest fish made a high free jump, came over the stern of the boat, hit the floor, and then ended up on the front deck. The boys quickly pounced on the fine fish pushing 3-pounds. What great excitement! These exotic fish are still in the area, and now is the time to catch a few of them. By the way, plenty of bluefish, ladyfish, and small sharks take up the slack between bites. The scenery at the islands is simply magnificent with shallow gin clear waters full of life. Stingrays, thousands of batrays, big sharks, jack crevalles, and redfish chasing bait in the shallows is a sight for sore eyes. Come join the fun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS...it's catching! MORE POMPANO! Back to the barrier islands today, and what an amazing morning of fishing. My guests today aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS were Ben Benoit and Ted Baer II. Our quest was more of those tasty and hard fighting Florida pompano, and although we did not see as many fish jumping as last trip, a good bite came our way. When the fish catching was done we had 18 nice pompano in the ice chest, and some real happy anglers. Don't know how long this pompano run will last, but now is the time to give it a try. Like I said this is a different type of fishing, and the scenery surrounding the islands is work the trip alone. Today, thousands of butterfly rays covered the shallows, and it was a beautiful sight. Fished the barrier islands today, and what a beautiful day it was. Our quest was the Florida pompano, and although we located plenty of fish the bite was slow. However, we stuck to fishing and late in the afternoon got on a bite and boated 6 really nice pompano. Left the bite as soon as it got started, but 6 pompano is nothing to laugh about. And on the dinner table, well, these are some of the best eating fish on the planet. Also, caught a big flounder, 6 legal mangrove snapper, and all the light tackle fighting from ladyfish, bluefish, and hardtails one could stand. However, you have to go through the trash fish when fishing for pompano, and that's a given. Anyway, the pompano are in, so if you would like to try something different for a change give me a call and we'll head out to the gin-clear shallows of the barrier islands and hunt for the silvery ones. Check out the pompano pictures at my web site www.teambrodiecharters.com, and at my photography portfolio at www.flickr.com under teambrodiecharters (all one word). Nearly 1000 of my fishing and duck hunting pictures can be viewed there. Read about the pompano fishing in the next Sun Herald's edition of South Mississippi Outdoors Sunday. Fished Cat Island yesterday, and managed to catch some fine fish while simply playing around. It was mid day, and I took staff photographer Amanda McCoy of The Sun Herald to the isle for a photo shoot for the next issue of Beach Blvd. While there fished around the north end and caught hardtails, small jacks, and plenty of ladyfish on Mr. Champs. Later in the day we ran to Smugglers Cove where we pulled up to the shore and simply casted out behind the boat and caught white trout and ground mullet one after another. Although the ground mullet ran small, the trout were nice. I would have imagined if we fished in the deeper dropoff there we would have caught bigger fish, but the cove is packed full of fish. Amazing! Later in the afternoon while wading the shallow bar inside the north end I managed to catch my 3 fish limit of redfish. Ideal size fish to eat, a 20, 21, and 21 1/2-inch fish. They all fell for a silver Mr. Champ without a bucktail. A great way to end a day of exploration on this gorgeous island. Wade fishing ig great fun and exciting, and trips can be set up to you liking. By the way, masses of mullet swarmed the isle's shallows, and would shower as sharks, reds, and jacks dashed through them. What great sights! Regards, Capt. Robert L. Fished the Gulf Park Estates Reef today with a wonderful family group composed of Gene Head of Slidel, his wife Debbie, and their grandson Brandon Head. Early morning bottom fishing bite was excellent with white trout and big ground mullet, and kept the light action St. Croix rods bent all morning long. As croakers came aboard, a few were sent back out on popping corks and long leaders finished off with size 4 4X Strong Gamakatsu treble hooks, and the results were a few really nice speckled trout. Left out of the D'Iberville Marina today, and it was a quick run to the fishing grounds with instant action. The inshore bottom fishing is still going strong, and provides plenty of fish catching fun for young and old anglers alike. Today's final tally: 7 nice specks, and 111 white trout and ground mullet. Hey, get those kids rounded up and let's catch some fish while the bite is hot. Good fishing! Capt. Robert L. I only let them get about $ 1.00 from me. let them eat 4 croakers and moved to the west. glad we did. It wasn't hot and heavy but enough to keep us there. We were home doing fishermen duties by 11:00 with 43 beautiful trout. Got to get stuff ready for the AM. Come Get Hoked GCC. Good fishig to all.

Had the pleasure on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to take Jeff Weakley (Editor of Florida Sportsman & Associate Editor of Shallow Water Angler) and Paul Farnsworth (Executive Television Producer of Shallow Water Angler)on three days of fishing in south Mississippi. Wade fishing the south side od East Ship Island provided plenty of footage with a fine mangrove snapper, plenty of bluefish and high-leaping ladyfish, a small cobia, and 7 big sow specks. Some great footage of big bull sharks chasing us to the beach was exciting too. Day two covered the inshore reefs and their white trout and ground mullet fishery, as well as a few small tripletail. Paul wanted some bird fishing footage, so to the Louisiana marsh we went, and he was able to film my friend Art Mullen and his 15-year-old daughter Melanie from Fort Mill, South Carolina. What a suprise for those two! Jeff and Paul intend to shed light on the fact that south Mississippi is up and running, and the casinos, hotels, and fishing is at full force once again. Fished the marsh Thursday and my family group had a blast tossing popping corks and soft-plastics. The east winds had the outside muddied up, but found a few fish in the inner bays where they boated 50 or so white trout and a few specks. bird activity was down about 90 percent, but tipping jigs over the reefs generated some fun fish catching action. On Friday had a great 3-man group, and took them on a quick trip to the Mississippi Sound where they boated 2 big specks, a jack crevalle pushing 30-pounds, and 50 big fat roe-laden white trout and ground mullet off a deeper reef. Looking forward to fishing with those gentlemen again, ideal clients that know how to have a great time. Have to admit I am worn out, but looking forward to more adventures next week where ever they may be. By the way, I am already getting lots of calls and e-mails on those duck hunting trips, so be sure to mark a date if you didn't make it down to bag a trophy redhead last season. Regards, Capt. Fished the Louisiana marsh yesterday with Jim Swittenberg of Atlanta, GA, a great fisherman and comeback client. Today was like the previous trips to the Louisiana marsh the fishing was on fire. Popping corks and soft-plastic quickly netted Jim a beautiful catch of 25 speckled trout and 80 white trout. Bottom line, the fishing is hot in the marsh, and now is the time to book a trip for fish catching fun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS new 2170 Blazer Bay. From Mississipppi it's merely 20-minutes to the fish-filled Louisiana waters. Hey, you won't catch any fish sitting at home, so book a trip now and create you own fishing adventures. Saturday my clients were junior anglers Jake Keyes (13-years-old), Conner Battaglia (7-years-old) and Logan Battaglia (8-years-old), and we fish from the Back Bay of Biloxi to Horn Island, and back. The hard fishing young boys caught mangrove snapper, white trout, ground mullet, black drum, and small redfish. However, Conner's 18 1/2-inch redfish won him first, second, and third place in the (CCA) Coastal Covservation Association's fishing tournament on that day. On Monday I took my loyal comeback client Hugh Robinson and group to the marsh, and we caught 50 white trout and 15 nice specks on a short trip. And today my clients Terry James, Thomas James , and Kendall James hammered 100 white trout, 35 specks, and a big Spanish mackerel. Fantastic bird fishing in the marsh right now! Took two comeback clients to the marsh today, and managed to catch plenty of fish with nonstop action under the birds. My guests were Buddy DeWeese and Bill Williams from the Jackson, MS area, and they fished hard and caught plenty of fish. Kept about 50 in total (15 specks, 35 white trout), and on the way hope boated another fine tripletail about 5-pounds. Windy and muddy water once again, but we managed to catch a good mess of fish and have fun. And having fun is what it's all about! Lately we've caught a tripletail on every trip out, and that's definately a good thing to have going, and the perfect way to end each outing. Took my good friend and comeback client Hugh Robinson of Raleigh, MS to the Louisiana marsh yesterday, and we started out the morning by pulling up to a massive school of bull redfish in the shallows. They had the water muddied up and the grass pulled up everywhere. Hugh, his grandsons Jimmy Lee and Davey Robinson, and Hugh's good friend Mick Cockrell were quick to toss soft-plastics into the mass of big fish, and 10-pound-test line stripping runs immediately took place. These guys were in heaven, and Hugh wanted to tangle with a few big fish, and he got his wish. Some of these fish were really monsters, and in the thick grass they would run off 75 or mor yards of line before the masses of grass broke off a couple of the really big fish. However, they did get their 4 keepers in the boat before we headed off to greener pastures. Later in the day we found some nice specks and really big white trout in the open waters to the west of Chino Bay under the birds, and there the white trout and speckled trout was hot using clacking corks and soft-plastics. The conditions were awesome, hot, but slick as glass, and you could see a shrimp jump 40-yards away on the flat surface. Under one flock of birds they filled up the front live well with fish, and due to the extreme heat Hugh decided to call it a day. However, we had plenty of fish for the table, and great memories. Left the fish biting on slick conditions with clearing water. It only got better, because on the way home, Jimmy picked off a nice 8-pound tripletail under a floating log. What a way to end the day, especially with a crew that fishes with me about once a month. This sort of day was one they will remember for a long time, or at least until our next adventure. Wow. What happened to the water? It isn't muddy necessarily...more like nasty harbor water. Regardless, visibility is way down. Marsh, Cat Island, Freemason, everywhere pretty much. Lots of debris in the water down towards Freemason too. Guess this is more leftovers from the flooding on the MS river??? And what every happened to common courtesy on the water? Why do people in boats insist on pulling up right on top of you when you are wading? So close I could cast and hit them. I know that it is always crowded this time of year, but come on...have some courtesy. I do not know whether they don't know or don't care, but these people are about as bad as a bunch of Seadoos running around.

May 24, 2008 - Fished the Bellefontaine Reef in the morning with a poor bite. The water looked extremely muddy and nasty foam was on the surface. Moved back inside to the Gulf Park Estates Reef, and there my clients managed to boat 42 nice white trout and ground mullet. Majority of the fish were caught using popping corks with long Seaguar fluorocarbon leaders (6-feet), split shot, and a number 4 4X Strong Gamakatsu Treble Hook. A strip of cut croaker was extremely effextive on that rig. Although it was slow, we still managed to boat a nice mess of fish on this half a day outing. If I would have started out at the GPER we would have probably tripled our catch, but that's fishing. Looked for tripletail too, but none spotted on this morning adventure. Just one of those slow days, and that's why we call it fishing not catching. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Fished the Bellefontaine Reef today with repeat clients from the Farm Bureau, and these gentlemen enjoyed a fun light tackle outing by boating some really nice white trout and ground mullet, as well as a nice speck. On the way in we boated our secont tripletail of the season, always a great bonus catch. Final tally 90 white trout and ground mullet, 1 nice speck, and a beautiful tripletail. Regards, Capt. W John I noticed your post on Chandeleur. We are going out in two weeks. The north bar you are referring to, is this near the former light house area or are you talking the area around the houseboat (I have heard people refer to a north bar on the bay side in this area). What depth of water were you fishing. Any info would be appreciated.

Just a quick note: Fished LA marsh on Sunday and caught 30 nice specks and a bull red. Birds were everywhere, but there were plenty of undersize fish in them. However, that's a good sign the birds are working consistently now. Also, ran a charter yeaterday, and caught a few ground mullet, a nice flounder, some small black drum, and two big black drum including a 25 and 45-pound monster. Great fun on 10-pound-test. Took pics and released the big fish. Can view the pictures on my web site or my photography portfolio at www.flickr.com under teambrodie charters. By the way my pictures on the web site are networked with pics on flickr. Just click on a web site pic and it will take you to flickr, a reall neat way to network. This southwest wind is kill the fishing for the most part, but once this clears it will be back to great fishing once again. Good fishing and keep it safe out there! Regards, Capt. Robert L. Sunday morning we headed out to the north bar on Chandeleur to chum for cobia. It was a beautiful day, light west winds, and slight chop but the water was very muddy still. We anchored up and I began to fill the chum churn while Jack tossed a live mullet out the back of the boat on a bottom rig. That poor mullet barely hit the water and WHAM ! Fish on, then after a short battle Jack landed a nice redfish. After catching and releasing about 20 bull reds we still hadn't seen the first cobia. It was now time to pull anchor and move away from all the this action and look for that target species. Well, like usual the wind picked up and cranked a steady 15 kts for the rest of the day making for a very uncomfortable time at anchor. This time the big brownies eluded us, but we'll back after 'em another time. Still had a great day on the water!

Pete - the fishing has been great at Chandeleur when the wind is not blowing and churning up the water. That's the only inside scoop you need - pray for calm waters and wind for your trip. Capt. Brian has been taking alot of pics. but has not had time to post as we have been on back to back trips since mid-March.

Fished the Mississippi Sound today under rough conditions. However, my clients eeked out 35 nice white trout and ground mullet, as well as a nice tripletail, our first of the season. Saw another fish today, but he was spooky. Check out the pic at www.flickr.com under teambrodiecharters. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Been running back to back trips since mid-March so Capt. Brian has not had time to post reports and pics but will as soon as he gets a break. The pattern has been consistent to date: blowing winds = slow catches but calm winds = great catches. Some beautiful specks have been caught so far this year. The reds are there as always and the flounder have started to show up.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to fish with local businessmen Dalton McGuire (Builder), Eric Brown (Banker),Mark Orgler (Lawyer), and John Baxter (Banker). Made a day of it at the white trout reefs, and these guys fished really hard to catch plenty of fish. The bite was extremely slow during the first part of the outing, but when the bite turned on these guys hammered the nice sand sea trout a.k.a. "white trout" and southern kingfish a.k.a. "ground mullet". Matter a fact, they boated 150 of the tasty ones, and a couple of specks. This trip was a lot of fun, and we laughed all day as each had something funny to tell. Plenty of fish and lots of laugh on a beautiful day on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Don't forget, I do Louisiana marsh fishing trips too! Life is good...let's fish! Regards, Capt. Robert L. They extended shrimp season for about 2 more weeks. We made a few drags with the little trawl on my inlaws boat and had a fair number of nice sized croakers. Most of the shrimp are what they call "hoppers" and are really a bit big for bait. Maybe half are usable. However, if you run out of Long Beach or Pass Christian early in the morning, you may be able to catch one of te smaller boats selling live bait. After the brown shrimp show up they will close the season until it open for the summer.

Today I fished with one of my regular clients John Noel of Jackson, MS. Started to fish the Louisiana marsh, but decided to keep this trip close to home. About 2-minutes from the boat ramp John was pulling in black drum, and managed to stock up the back live well with 9 "puppy" drum. Stoped at the L&S Train Bridge for a few minutes...no luck. Then hit the Ocean Springd Reef outside the Ocean Springs Harbor Channel, and caught a few white trout and ground mullet. Winds started to lay, so we hooked up the 2170 Blazer Bay and ran to the old Bellefontaine Oyster Reef. There, John got into the action, and ended up with 45 sand sea trout aka "white trout" and southern kingfish aka "ground mullet". The sharks and big gafftopsail catfish are starting to show up on the reefs too. They are a nuisance to the local angler, but charter clients, especially children enjoy catching them, especially the small sharks. Bottom line, caught a nice mess of fish, and did so with clear shies and calm seas, a beautiful day to be on the water here in south Mississippi. Looking for a LOUISIAMA MARSH FISHING TRIP? We run those here at TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS too! Regards, Capt. Robert L. Fished the Back Bay of Biloxi today with 3 great clients, Jay Mayfield, Bryan Thornton, and Doug Ayers. Although it was blowing nearly 25-knots with poor tidal conditions these guys stuck it out and caught a box full of fish. Since we were limited to the bay structure fishing was the plan, and these guys fished hard boating 14 black drum, 2 flounders, a nice redfish, and a big sheepshead. Looks like a nice day on Sunday with north winds at 5-knots, ideal fishing conditions. PS: Really enjoyinf fishing out of the new 2170 Blazer Bay, and my clients speak highly of it too. We are still playing run from the wind and it seems to want to keep blowing. Sure seems like more cold fronts coming through than in the past? Been at Chandeleur when the winds allow and in the marsh when it is blowing. Catches have been good although I think the spillway opening has now affected the marsh a bit - but did see that they have now begun closing the gates and should have them completely closed in mid-May. Specks have been good size and the reds are still cooperating. On another note, Chandeleur appears to be building back and moving a bit to the west. Alot of the cuts from Katrina are filling in and the grass beds appear to be in good shape.

Yes the fish are here...we tend to get near a limit every time now with artificial. HOWEVER...BE CAREFUL...there was a LOT of debris out in the sounds around the marsh (Door Point/Brush/Everywhere). We hit something pretty big that was submerged. There were trees and everything floating around now that the spillway is open. Fishing is great..but exercise caution..especially in choppy seas where the debris can be hidden or in low light conditions.

LOUISIANA MARSH ON FIRE! Tuesday-April 22, 2008 Went to the Louisiana marsh today and hammered the big speckled trout and redfish. Easily caught our Louisiana 3-man limit of big specks (75), four redfish 18 to 24-inches, and all of the 15 to 25-pound bull redfish we could stand. It was an amazing morning, and we left the fish biting! Our "honey hole" is grass beds that's full of silversides in the spawning mode, and when this occurs reds and specks know where an easy feast can be found. For pictures go to my web site at www.teambrodie charters, com and my picture portfolio at www.flickr.com and type in teambrodiecharters in the search button. Bottom line, a magnificent day in the Louisiana marsh with a nosstop bite of hefty speckled trout and bull redfish. What a day! By the way, I am fully licensed to run these Louisiana marsh fishing trips, so keep that in mind. Also, the white trout and ground mullet bite is still good in the Mississippi Sound, and makes great quick trips, and provides excellent family fun. So just don't sit there...let's FISH!
