| New pump out servise to Mississippi
|

| SeaTow is proud to announce its co-sponsorship with Mitchell Marine and the Department of Wildlife in bringing you the state's first pump out boat. The boat looks good enough to take on a fishing trip, but is specially designed, licensed and permitted to haul waste from your holding tank to an upland disposal area. This project has taken over a year to cut through the red tape and bring it from an idea on paper to your boat.
The boat is a 23-foot twin engine powered with Suzuki 140 four strokes. In the heart of the boat below the floor lies a 400 plus gallon holding tank. Under the console is an Epson waste pump. Hose connects to a fitting on the front of the console directly to the waste outlet on your boat. The average pump out is about 18 gallons and is completed in less than 5 minutes boatside - we come to you!
The Clean Water Act and The Clean Marina Program administered by Rhonda Price played an instrumental role in bringing this fine piece of equipment to fruition. Imagine not having to swim in a sewer while attending the Ship Island 'Blow Out'; or having to explain to the little ones what that is floating by the boat. The leading cause of oyster reef closings in the state is due to the detection of human waste in the product. This is one tool that in a small way will contribute to cleaner water in the state of Mississippi.
At the time of this writing, this boat is the only working pump out station for marine use in the three coastal counties - this being 17 months after Hurricane Katrina. Thanks to the support from the grant and donations of time and equipment from Seatow, this service can be brought to your boat, land or sea, for the marginal fee of $25.00 per tank.
